SID Greater Dayton Chapter (SIDDA) is a non-profit organi-zation whose purposes are:  (1) To encourage scientific, literary, educational advancement of information display and its allied arts & sciences including hardware, software, human performance, and system engineering; (2) To provide forums for exchange & dissemination of ideas and to promulgate standards & definitions.  SIDDA focus is on ubiquitous information technologies (IT) for civil, avionics, military visualization applications in a wired world.

News:  Recent technical meetings were held at Panera Bread in Beavercreek and Dayton OH.  On 18 Mar 09, Dr. Stephen A. Kupiec from Metrolaser Inc. in Irvine CA presented on their protoyype Autostereoscopic 3D Display.

On 29 Apr 09, Prof Jason Heikenfeld from U. Cincinnati presented his breakthrough research on Electrofluidic Chromatophores for Adaptive Concealment and Flexible Displays.  U. Cincinnati and Gamma Dynamics are pioneering a new field, dubbed “Micro-Electro-Fluidic Systems (MEFS)” at the meeting, to develop electro-fluidic displays (EFD) and other devices.  Meeting minutes, 29 Apr 09
